I'm considering buying an '00 SLT CC 4.7 4x4 with almost no miles - it's perfect EXCEPT it has the crappy stock cassette deck, NO keyless entry (no little infared keychain thingie) and decal gate lettering.
I've had keyless and the raised reflective lettering on my '97 SLT since I bought it 54 years ago. Seems petty, but if I buy this thing, I'll have it for 7 years. Can I after-market this stuff??? The stereo will be first, but I'm kinda used to the keyless thing and feel like I'd miss it...
Dumb question?

they all have decals on the gate. you have to buy the raised lettering from the new Ram's and put it on yourself...that's what I did. BTW, it cost about $30 from the dealer.

The keyless entry is convienent. I had it on my 96 jeep grand cherokee. When I bought my Dak the dealer was very limited on what they had for daks found one with everything I wanted but Keyless. I too was worried. It took about one week to get used to now I could give a sh1t wether I had it or not. If the truck your looking as is that good of a deal dont pass it up.

try an aftermarket keyless system. Most car stereo shops sell them as a sideline for around a hundred bucks installed. I priced out a keyfob one time, the dealer wanted over a hundred just for one keyfob and wanted even more to program it. I found a keyless system online and installed it myselfe, and still had enough money left over to buy a couple of pizzas and a sixpack with the difference for what the dealer wanted for the keyfob.

another plus is that you can put in on your next vehicle if it does not come with one.
