Message: I have an opportunity to purchase a '94 Dak v8 auto with very low miles. However, it was used to regularly tow a heavy (5000lb!) travel trailer. I've heard that the auto tranny is the weakest link in this area and is likely to fail under heavy use like this.
1. Is this true?
2. If so, how can I 'stress test' it during a test drive?
3. Worst case, if it needed to be replaced how much would it cost.
