Subject: Harness my lights!!! IP: Logged
Message: My stepdad has two different brands of lights that he bought from a yard sale, but they didnt have the wiring harnesses. Two of them are KC and they other two are a no-name brand. I have heard that you can buy a replacement harness for them, but i dont know where to get one. Is this possible, or are these lights worthless? If possible i'd like to have them all 4 hooked up to one switch, and if anyone could tell me how to do this that'd be great...He's away on vacation and i wanna suprise him when he gets back....Thanks!!!

Message: go to your local auto parts store and get some primary 16 gage wire and a switch to custom make your own like the rest of us do. There is no aftermarket source for a harness due to relitively low sales of the lites, as harnesses have to be custom made for each vehicle and the cost of devolping said harness for each seperate brand/model car/truck/suv verses what the public wants to spend(almost nothing) makes it cost prohibative to do so. So use the brain you were born with and make your own.

Message: I would recomend using a relay.
Find out what wattage you are running on the lights.
For example two 55W light could use a 25 amp relay.
Power goes to relay then to light.
Switch goes to relay to turn on lights.
That way you wont fry the switch.
Take a look at some aftermarket light kits to see what I mean.
good luck.
