Message: I agree 100%. They got yuppiefied and soccer mommed. The interior is typical GM plastic and the A/C only works when you are moving.
My company has one and I have been fortunate enough to be able to drive it. The 6.0L motor is not bad, and the ride height it sweet.
We are taking it down to Corpus Christy and Laredo this thanksgiving. We won’t be driving it off-road like the video, but we are going to try and get it stuck on the beach and in the mud.
BTW, a tie rod can break on ANY vehicle, and we had the tie rod replaced under warranty in the company. It has not been off road, but some Houston streets look worse than the trail in the video clip.

Message: Houston streets sure do have issues! They keep tearing up an area near my house. They just recoated it 1.5 months ago and have come back to fix it twice!
What part of Houston are you in?
(The first gen Hummers had more ground clearance with the IRS in back. They looked pretty capable.

Message: The statement is not too far from the truth. If you check Consumer Report the H2 is listed as one of the worst SUVs for reliability. At least they are capable off-road though. Not like all the car based SUVs that are flooding the market.
