 Subject: Replace 37.5W fogs with 55W

Hello,
I just had a fog light burn out. I was thinking of replacing the stock 893 37.5W bulb with a 893 55W bulb. Does anyone know if this will overheat the housing or melt the wires or anything? The 55W bulbs can be found on eBay (such as http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36476&item=2443619878)

Your main concern should only be with the amp rating on the new bulb. make sure its not much higher than the stock one. then you wont have to worry. if it is you may have to check what your wire can handle and what the fuse can handle.

I have an 02 (different lamp...894) I put the 55w in over a year ago. Nothing but good things.
I have heard of others running the same bulb you are with no problems.
Buy from WWW.midnightmoose.com if you can.
He has hooked up members on this forum in the past. He also sells on ebay under that name.
He send me headlights, fog lights and reverse bulbs for less than $40 shipped.
plus this week is free shipping.

I am thinking of replacing the factory fog lights altogether (lenses cracking and checking from heat) with Pilot PL-119B fog lights.

I have a 2000 QC and the foglight bulbs in mine are 899's. I've been reading that 893's are used. What is the diff??
