I bought a set of rims 15x8's and I was wondering if any one knew what size tires would fit. Obviously 15, but what width rating and what radius?

I've used 31x10.5x15 and also 30x9.5x15 on that size rim. Tire manufacturer websites would probably list the approved rim width for their tires also.

You can fit 32x11.5-15 on them but you will have a little bit of rubbing but nothing major. You lose like a inch of turning radius.

The 32's will fit but only on a 4x4. I have them and so does my friend. No rubbing at all. Also we didnt loose anything in or turning radius. Way be different on 2x4's but 31s are the most you could fit on one.

I forgot to mention that we have ours on the stock 15x7's. If you put 32's on 15x8's they will touch just a little at full turn.

The 235x75x15's will fit fine. Although it might look a little funny on the 15x8 rim. The 235 is a little narrow for that wide of a rim but it will fit.

With the 2001 16 inch rims, what is the bigget tire size you can fit with out rubbing or a lift? :)

The maximum you should go on the 15X8s are 33x12.5s. Any larger you run the risk of popping that tire off the rim when wheeling (if that's what's intended). If it's just for around town, stick with the same max as well, they will still look good.
I rock-crawl all of the time in my YJ. It has 15X8s with BFG 33x12.5" muds. I deflate them down to 13PSI and I've never had a problem, in fact they look very mean as well. I do get some rubbing on the springs but you get used to how far you can turn. Keep in mind, these 15X8s are not offset at all and I still have a good enough turning radius.

Ok, just a little clarification here. 2wd drive stock truck max size would be 31's on 15x8's or 265x70 on 16x8's. On a 4wd, 32's on 15x7's or 275x70 on 16x8's. Jeff, you have 33's on 15x8's on a stock 4x4?? I have 32's on 15x7's and there is no rubbing but no room for anything else. Cant even put 32's on 15x8's without some serious contact. Mind you these sizes are on 97 & up Daks.

Sorry, I was referring to what the actual 15X8 wheel could handle. Not the wheel on a vehicle. :)
I thought the original question was just about how much tire a 15X8" wheel could hold. I'm not sure what height his vehicle is currently at.
You're right, Hawkeye, I have a 5" lift on my Jeepy.

Im not so interested in going bigger, I just wanted to know if I need to buy new tires for the 15x8's I bought on ebay. My tires now are almost brand new. When they wear out I will get 31x10.5s BFG T/As. Since I think my 235 75 r 15's will fit I will have them put on. I wonder what Ill get bent for on taking my tires off the existing rims and mounting them on the new set..

if i tweek the torsion bars and put 2' lifting blocks on my 99 dak would i be able to fit 33s in the fender. and if i could would i be able to fit 33x12.5 15x8 rims?

stick with the 235/75/R15. they make my truck look very beefy on my american racing tailgunner rims. those are 15x8's. i just put a set of 225/75/R15's on though because the 235's were bald.
