Message: hey i have herd of someone doning that before. it sounds like a great idea. i guess it would depend on the space in the back wall of the cab. i have a quad cab and there are vents in the back of the cab that could get in the way. if anyone knows if it is possible please tell us.

Message: I looked into it with my last truck (chevy)
and it would have taken about 3 inches room behind the back seat.
I dont think with the quad cab we can afford the space.
because of the way the rear seats mount, unless you were willing to take them out.
You could then put 2 buckets back there.
I do not think it is possible if you want to maintain a stock configuration...but I don't have all the facts. I know you can do an electic slider window though.

Message: How do you keep the water out of the passenger floor board when you cut a nice wide hole in the sheetmetal around the rear window.

Message: i assume that the hole would be filled by the window. the same way that all the other windows on the trucks work. with rubber weather stripping.
the other idea i just got is what if you could get a motor similar to the ones on sunroofs that lift the window up and then slide it back. or in our case the motor would push the window back and then lower it. i think chevy mallaboos or one of those chevy two doors have a sun roof like that. just a thought.

Message: There would have to be drain holes drilled into the back of the truck.
Door windows have felt that keeps some water out, but you will notice drain holes punched into the lower inside of the door.
The side windows have weather stripping, but don't move up and down. The sunroof idea might work... It would be an expensive motor and track though.
Why are you adverse to a sliding window? Are you worried about break ins?
