Message: Will a bad O2 sensor show up on a computer diagnostic? My gas milage has dropped and it did it rather suddenly and dodge did a computer test today and found nothing wrong with the truck.

Message: It should show up, but I'd go with my gut over the typical dealer test. After 40,000 miles, they typically fall off. You may have one or more injectors that are sticking from a buildup of hard deposits. These cannot be dealt with using over-the-counter cleaners. If one sticks, it'll drip fuel which is picked up by the O2 sensor (if it's working properly). This causes the computer to lean out the fuel system to compensate, but all this does is starve the engine, cuts power, and push mileage down as you dig deeper to get a response. So, get the fuel system professionally cleaned, and get the O2 sensors changed.
