I have a 2003 dakota (4.7 4x4) that is just hitting a year old. I have a couple issues that the dealership doesn't seem to know how to fix it...

Issue one:
When going over dips (mostly potholes in my area) in the road, I can hard a high pitch squeek in the rear of the truck. What the dealership has fixed/replaced thursfar is replaced the links in the rear, replaced the brake pads, and greased up behind the ebrake. No luck yet.

Issue two:
Only in the cold (40 and below) when going over bumps and dips (more noticable on speed bumps) there is a pretty loud sounds only coming from the front of the truckt. Dealership says it is the bushings and lubed them up during a time when they could not hear it (of course). Last year this happened and is happening again this year, only louder...

Any of you people have any suggestions that can help??

Thank you in advance!
-Mike

When it gets cold, the rubber in the bushings contracts. It seems reasonable to me that they may squeek when it gets cold. Wear will also help make squeeking sounds.

There are bushings in the leaf eyes also. You could be hearing them from the back.

Since your truck is separated into 2 halfs, there is a good deal of body/frame flex that you wouldn't see in a car. Body and suspension parts moving will eventually lead to squeeks.

Me too Mikey,(exact same symptoms). I think they make grease-able inner bushings for the front sway bar. That would take care of the front squeaks. The outer bushings in the front don`t seem to be noisy. I`ve heard on this site that belt dressing works good too. If you have to take it apart to clean and lubricate I would just assume put the grease-able ones in and be done with it.

Anyone know for sure about the grease-able fronts?

I have no idea about a fix for the rear squeaking. If someone could post some info on this I`d appreciate it.

I know this has been covered here before but maybe we can get some new ideas or recent experience with this problem.
