im putting a cd player in my 97 dakota is there a special kit to do so i looke for one but all i could find was for a 98 and up if anyone knows about this please let me know what i need to do

Just the standard Chrysler dash install kit is what you need. It's the same kit for like '74-'00. They're available locally at Wal-Mart, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Best Buy, Circuit City, and any car stereo shop. Online: Crutchfield, Sound Domain, or try ebay.
