Message: I just finished fixing a nightmare of a transmission problem and thought I would share what happened. I drove through a river and then it would not shift out of overdrive any more, and the shifting it did do was very rough. I tried adjustments based on your suggestions with no help. I then took it to ammco where they told me the whole tranny needed rebuilt(that's all they know how to do) I bought my own rebuilt tranny complete with torque converter, dynotested and it still did the exact same thing. I then took it to a local tranny shop and they told me it was electrical and to take it to the dodge dealer. The dealer's mechanic scratched his head for a few days and then told me he needed to tear into the tranny. I refused to let him. He then replaced the control chip, which did not help. Any guesses as to what it was?

Message: Did you try changing the speed sensors?? Same thing happened to my Intrepid. Just a sensor went bad, replaced it, and have been fine ever since. Try that depending on what year Dak you have. Also, a little tip for the future, NEVER take a car to Ammco for anything. No matter what the problem is, they will always say the tranny's bad.
Hope this helps

Message: they hire high school kids for minimum wage just to take out and put in trannys. They send your old tranny to a rebuild shop.
No expense just profit
