Here's the list of why I didn't buy a tacoma listed in importance.
#1. uncomfortable seats. I don't know if they were designed for little Asians or what, but I couldn't get comfortable in that seat.
#2. Noisy interior. There was little done to muffle the noise from the engine into the cab.
#3. Tips easy. Don't go too fast around a corner in that boxy thing. The weels are too close together for how tall it is.
I don't care if they have "better quality," if the ride sucks all the time, what's the point?

toyotas are crap. they break down more often then a mopar. imported cars are packed like sardines, it is terribly difficult to work on them because you have to dismantle the whole thing everytime you work on it.

I can't refer to the Tacomas due to total lack of interest, but Toyotas in general had crash protection marginally better than a motorcycle.

I seriously wonder why some people wont swallow their domestic pride and just admit that maybe...just maybe...someone out there knows quality just a LITTLE better than we do. I dont know how much more proof you need....go look on a toyota forum and you'll notice, there arent half the complaints you see on here.
Personally, I'd rather sit in an uncomfy seat than that of a rental car while my truck sits in the shop for the umpteenth time.
And yes, I am speaking from experience...I owned a 98 Dakota prior to my Tacoma.
Go ahead...flame me...MAKE IT HURT. lol.

Toyota's crash safety isn't any better than a motorcycle? I don't know about Toyota in general, but I can tell you that the Tundra has a higher crash safty rating than the big 3. Do some actual research on which truck breaks more instead of bringing up ignorant arguments like "My neighbor Zeke done got him one a dem dere Toyota's and his heater done broke on 'im".

Why do some people have to put down others in order to feel good about themselves? Toyota makes excellent vehicles. That's why Toyota is the second best selling make on the entire planet right behind General Motors.
BadMoFo sounds like one of these guys with a really small penis who hangs out with guys who have even smaller penis's just so he can have the biggest penis amoung a bunch of tiny penis guys. Get over it. If you like your Dak that's fine. I like mine but if someone else likes their Toyota that's fine too.
Way more people prefer Toyota's over Dodges because DC is now in fourth place, sales-wise.

honestly, this is the reason i am sometimes embarrassed to own my dakota. its the narrow minded redneck mentality that hurts the domestic crowd. I owned a toyota tacoma (oyo taco) it was a base 2wd reg cab. It was not comfortable for someone over 6', but was a dream to work on. with the 4 cyl there was nothing under the hood. i had one major complaint, the clutch pressure plate broke in half and they wouldnt warranty it because it was lowered 3". a nice $1200 clutch job. i traded in after a year and 20K miles and the value only went down $1000 so i cant complain. But i love my big dakota quad cab 4WD v-8, and would not trade it for another Mini truck any day. when the tacoma gets a v-8 we can talk.
