Message: Hello to the Dodge Dakota community...
I finally had the chance to check fluid levels in my recently purchased 2000 Dodge Dakota. Qith much alarm, the power steering reservoir was almost completely empty. I rushed off to a car parts store, picked some up and refilled. This Sunday while going underneath to change the oil, I noticed a leak right near the power steering reservoir. No wonder it worked itself to empty.
Less than a week since purchasing it, I'm already bringing it in for service, and for a day worker, that's never easy.
I hope I didn't make a mistake here. This truck was previously a Canadian Budget Rental truck and although it looks and drives to be in good shape, I hope no serious calamities await me. I do have an extended warranty (7yrs/100,000), but it's still a pain getting it in for service, and a warranty won't help if I break down in the middle of nowhere.
Anyway, I'm just hoping it's just "one of those things" and that I won't be saying anymore leaks soon.
