Subject: Jeep Liberty Ball Joint Recall IP: Logged
Message: I just noticed on CNN that Diamler Chrysler just recalled 318,000 2002 and 2003 Jeep Liberty SUV's for the replacement of lower ball joints. I wonder if the design of these ball joints is similar to the Dakota? I also see that the government is looking into the Darango balljoints. After all the complaints that I have seen on this website and from my own experience, why are they not recalling the Dodge Dakota Ball joints?

Message: Actually it is 438,000 Liberty SUVs.
I have a 2001 Durango...why does it take so long to get THAT vehicle recalled?

Message: The Liberty and Dakotas are on differnt platforms. So I take it that the front suspension are unsimular.

Message: Not necessarily. It'd just that the Liberty is the wunderkind of the Stuttgart elite while the Dakota is the bastard child from a previous relationship, therefore, Papa Benz don't care for it.
