my 92 dak v6 has a A500 right? well, will this
match up to me mid '70's 318?? im hoping
so... also my 318 is pretty radical, is there any
hop-ups, valve bodies, or parts for these A500
trannys? i heard some parts from older 904s
are the same??? thanks yall

The tranny will bolt right up. The A500 is essentially, a 904 with an overdrive bolted on, so all the goodies like bands,drums and clutches will work. You can't swap valve bodies due to the extra stuff needed for the overdrive and lockup functions. No biggie since the early OD units are easily reworked like the 3-speeds (basically the same kit). Keep in mind that the early V8 does not have the pads on both sides of the block for mounting as is done with Magnums in Dakotas. www.engine-swaps.com can help there. Keep in mind that the A500 is a mild tranny. Unless you beef it up, you'll fry it with a hot V8. Get an external tranny cooler too.

hey thanks a lot guys i appreciate it...
sounds like i may be better off going with a
904 or 727 huh? the 318 ran low 14's in an
obese 74 charger. i was just hoping to keep
an overdrive (via- 4.10 rear gear). thanks
