use the long intake so that it can reach down to the cooler air, perferably just below the motor or at least in front of it. the short intake only takes in the hot air around the top of the motor under the hood and can actually rob you of horsepower.

Why don't you ask which brands people are using and their thoughts on said equipment.

You would get a better set of opinions, reguardless of the tube length.
