i have a 99 dak v-6 powerdyne s/c and the msd btm and 24# injectors. the problem came two weeks after i installd it. the prob is that when i stop or down shift it back fires and smells like gas. the rpm go to 8 then to 5. also check engine goes on and off. is this my stock cat and o2 sensoer the prob? what is it help.

Have you checked the intake manifold pan gasket. This is a common area of failure, especially on the blown engines. When I tore my 5.9 down, I found a blown gasket.

You've got symptoms of this, especially if you are running 10 lbs of boost on a stock engine.

Sorry about listing some of my mods... I wanted to show that I might know something since I've torn into my beast, and not just guessing. I did pretty much all the work myself :-) Ok, Some friends and a good helping of Fosters was needed too!!!

for all who are interested i have found the problem and fixed it (thanks to bernd). the MAP sensor on it went bad giving false reading to every thing and turing the check engine light on.i went to the dealer and bought a nother one every thing is fine now.
