This is my first post as a member. On an earlier post, a 300hp kit for the 5.2/5.9 magnum was mentioned. Does anyone know what the cost of the kit is?
Also, Bernd. You seem like you know a lot about cars in general. This may sound like a stupid question, but I'm used to seeing things under the hood right in front of me. My wife has a Kia Sportage, and I cannot find the spark plugs. Do you by chance know if they are on the driver or passenger side of the motor? I don't see a dist or plug wires either. Thanks.

This was a custom kit that could be put together and installed by the dealer back in '98 (at the time when you ordered the vehicle). It included the Intake System, Exhaust (Headers), and Cam for the 5.9L. It was available in CA but don't know about other states. (I left CA in late '98)

Thanks for the info Bernd. The sparks plugs I was referring to are in the original post. I was asking for your general mechanical expertise.

Thanks anyways. We never will touch a Kia again either, once we get rid of this one. Do the Durango's have the same problem shifting in OD in cold temperatures? We're looking at getting one.

Manuel there is not a problem with the trans shifting in OD,they are set up not to shift in OD in-tell they get up to heat, that would depend on how cold it is out side.If you get a 4.7L Durango, you will get the same trans that the Dak has.

So then it doesn't happen with the 5.2 or 5.9? We would buy used.

Same thing. It's Dodge's way of putting a safety on the transmission...cold fluid doesn't do wonders for the transmission...especially if it's really cold.

for the 300 hp deal, besides other mods, a 5.9 cam would be installed in place of the 5.2's?
thanks.
