Not sure what you're asking - timing is PCM controlled and #1 plug location? it's driver's side front of motor. (distributor rotation does NOT set ignition timing - don't mess with it unless you know what you're doing!)

My '89 Shelby 318 is set for 10 degrees BTDC with idle at 700 rpm. That's the factory preset, with all other timing being through the PCM. Yours is probably at the same setting, or very close. It'll work fine, even if that wasn't the original setting.
