Message: the 318 2bbl carb will work, but you,ll have to do some mods for the throttle cable and the kick-down rod,so they will hook-up ,plus the choke can be a problem.[if you go this route get one from 1967 thru 1976 318]
a have a carb for 87 v6[worked good when removed 1yr-18mo ago,may need rebuild now]parted out truck.$75 shipped to your door.

Message: Some of the '87 Daks used Holley 5200 and 6500 series carbs, 2 bbl progressives which are relatively straightforward. For the particular carb your Dak uses, you might want to enquire directly from Holley or from Autozone. Holley still provides rebuild kits, which Autozone sells at reasonable prices. If your casting is cracked, will have to replace the entire carb, rather than just rebuild, unfortunately. Again, you might try Autozone.
Also, FYI, you might get a copy of the Haynes "Holley Carburetor Manual". Autozone will sell you a copy for approximately $15.00 US. It is a treasure chest of practical, useful information that will apply to your needs.
If you read this manual carefully and in detail, you will be able to do whatever you need to do, when it comes to Holleys and many other types of carbs.
The Haynes people publish a host of manuals on all sorts of automotive matters. They also publish one for the '87 Dak. It is a decent shop manual for the intelligent layman who wants to do more than just change oil and filters. However, if you want a garage type shop manual, you will have to go to Dodge for it. They will charge you roughly $60.00 US to $75.00 US, if my memory serves me right.
