Subject: Quick U-Bolt Question IP: Logged
Message: I'm dropping the back of my Quad another inch
and I need to get some new u-bolts made.
The factory u-bolts have a square sholder and
a knurlled flat at the top part that touches the
axle tube when tight.
The new u-bolts are totally round and don't
have the shoulder or the knurl.
Am I going to have a problem?
Thoughts/experiences?
thanks,
Lemmers

Message: No, they should work just fine. Be sure and tighten each side of the U slowly, in gradual steps from side to side using a torque wrench. The purpose of the shoulder is to allow the assembler to quickly torque to specs.
