Subject: Mopar Perf.R/T in SPORT TRUCK IP: Logged
Message: The December 2003 issue of Sport Truck tested a 2003 Dak R/T with a "Mopar Performance Parts 5.9L Dakota R/T Power Combo". I assume the consumer buys the basic truck and has the package installed later. Some of that stuff is pricey full list; the package is $2459 MSRP for intake manifold, valve covers, cylinder heads, cam and lifters, and $372(!)K&N air intake. Estimated 40hp gain. 0-60 in 6.6, 14.9 @90mph 1/4, 232 rear wheel HP. Also mentioned in the article, was a '99 R/T CC Sport Truck project vehicle with 0-60 of 7.42, and 15.54 @86.84 1/4, 226 rear HP. One of the last R/T road tests as it heads off into the sunset.

Message: No comments? It does seem to me that "pick and choose" beats out a package, especially when the package is pricey.

Message: Mods need to work well together, not trying to justify the pricing, but there is a reason packages are put together. Some people make terrible mistakes, picking and choosing mods that don't work well together or don't work well without other mods, sometimes even losing power with their "upgrades".
