Message: i'm going to purchase a dak very soon. i'm planning on buying used because i've found them much cheaper than new ones. i was wondering how much higher mileage comes into play in performance and maintenance costs. really, around what mileage will the dak start to lose it's touch? i have a ford probe and it's got 130K ok it and all have i'd had to do is replace the clutch. any info will help. thanks.

Message: It really depends on how the vehicle was maintained.
If you are looking for a 4.7 truck, it may help to test drive a few new ones so you have a good idea how the engine is supposed to feel. After you test drive a few of the older ones, look for the normal issues when buying used vehicles.
On the any Dak check under the passenger side carpet for rust (many have a leak here) and on Gen III's, make sure your front ball joints and berings are in order.
