Hey guys,

I am thinking about selling my dak! I have always wanted a mustang, first and foremost! I might not be able to afford the GT but I am considering the 99 and up V6's! Make it look nice and add as much power to it as I can! Unless, someone can talk me out of it! I have had way too many problems with my truck and I am just tired of it!

I'd love to talk you out of it , but I never owned a Mustang , I did own a pinto , if that tells ya anything about Ford. And all the Ford trucks I drive at work are complete crap! but they are driven by different people everyday which would hurt most any vehicle. Except the Dodge Ram Van , and the one Ram truck , both driven by the same bunch of people , but never seem to breakdown. Maybe you have a lemmon , it happens. But personaly I think Ford has a lemmon orchard! hehe. Just drive what you like man , if your happy with the Mustang I'll be happy for you.

Well, I think I am going to push for the 2001 Mineral Grey GT but I think it will be a little bit longer before I am able to get it! I have 5 friends that all have different models of mustangs and I have driven all of them. The best one so far is the 2001 Cobra!!!! But there is no way I can afford one of those!

Take a quick test run of a 2001 Z28 Convertible or just a regular Camaro - I think you will be favorably impressed. I was. I was looking at a 2001 Mustang GT Convertible - then I test drove a Z28 - plunked down the hard earned on the Camaro right then and there. I also hear the 2002's are coming out with the LS6. (I hadn't owned a Chevy since 1976 when I got the Camaro.)

II envy you, 01...I have always wanted the newer Z28 with the 5.7. Sat in one the SSs at our local auto show and the wife had to forceably pull me out of it :-) I owned an '85 IROC years and years ago and simply loved it. I miss that wonderful V8 torque and quickness. Plus, I was definitely cool in it :-) It always got stared and smiles from the right crowd.

Take care now,

David

Go for it! That is what we bought in March. Tons of pics of it on my site.

I too wanted a Z28, but it was to be the wife's car and her friends had them before her and all had bad experiences with them. Too many problems to list! She also hates the interior on the Z, dunno why. Not saying that they aren't good cars, just saying that some people have problems with them. I think they main reason she wanted a stang was the interior and color. Oh, and we got a great deal on a 01 for $21,987! Brand new, Premium package 5spd with 8 miles on it.

Yes, I believe the Z28 are notorius for not being very reliable...The auto trani in my '85 IROC went out at 30,000 miles! It would not shift into 2nd! Fortunately, I had purchased an extended warranty on it and paid only a small deductable. And when I first purchased the car, within a few weeks I noticed a leak near the head on one side of the engine. If I recall that also had to be replaced.

Still, I miss that car. It was a sorcher. I eventually purchased a new Talon TSI AWD, but it just didn't have the torque and quickness of the IROC.
