Subject: 4.7 coolant drain IP: Logged
Message: If this was already discussed, excuse my search skills as I didn't find it searching past messages. Can anyone describe exactly where the radiator drain cock is on teh 4.7? I can't easily see it, but there is also a big piece of plastic trim blocking my view of the radiator from under the truck. Thanks.

Message: On my 2000 it is on the bottom side corner of the driver side. You have to remove that plastic shield to have access to it. Pull and rotate one quarter turn. After coolent overflow jar is emptied, remove pressure cap to increase flow.

Message: Thanks. I suspected it was hidden by that plastic, but I didn't want to start tearing things a part and be wrong.

Message: Use care when turning the drain. It is made of plastic and the radiator housing is plastic. Mine was stuck and I had to work it back and forth to get it to open up. It is easier if you use a pair of pliers with caution. I would hate to guess what a new radiator would cost.
