Message: My 2001 dakota 4.7 has 93,*** on it right now and mine has had no problems at all...i bet us 4.7 owners among other dodge motors if driven right will go alot more miles than 122,***.Dodges have a 250,*** mile life expectancy on there motors.I take back what i just said about the driven right part...its not how you drive a truck thats hard on the motor its mainly not changing the oil and stuff like you should thats hard on them.I drive mine hard but i change the oil ever time i should, and its still going strong its been in the shop and not started for 3 months...went in there yesterday and put a battery in it and it started right up...you think a ford would do that...lol.

-midnightdak, about what you said
"its been in the shop and not started for 3 months...went in there yesterday and put a battery in it and it started right up...you think a ford would do that...lol."
I also have a 93 F150 that sat for 2 years and 3 months. It had been wrecked and took me that long to get it back together but all I did was put in a new battery and turned on the fuel cut-off switch (that goes off when its wrecked) and it cranked right up after sitting for over 2 years. It did run a little rough at first but it had the same gas in it.

Message: put an engine in my 93 after 230,000 (mostly because I wanted a 360) was still running good. Trans (auto/w/Od) needed attention several times
99 has over 100000 and no problems yet work both pretty hard
