My 2001 quad 4x4 runs like crap! I got a bad o2 code... ive since replaced it and i dont get any more codes. Now on acceleration from a standstill i have to put the truck in 1st, then 2cnd, and so on just to accelerate. In drive only, it would just bogg right down...pedal to the floor and really no response but runs great at higher speeds. Plugs are about 3 months old. Only 60000kms. Ive done a search but cant really find anything that resembles this problem.... any advice??????????

I had the same bogging problem with my 97 5.2 CC Auto....after I had the tranny rebuilt...turns out the shifter linkage came loose so it wasn't shifting when it was supposed to...took it into the shop and they fixed it within an hour or so...it was their mistake so they did it for free...but on the work order recipit it was only like 60 bucks

There seems to be no problem shifting by itself, just cant get it to accelerate unless i down shift. Yet today it seems to be operating fine... wait a couple hours or next day and its just messed up again.

Had The same problem...01 QC 3.9 4x4 47,000miles.
Adjusted the TV cable, removed and replaced both the Governor Pressure Solenoid and Transducer in the tranny, along with the filter and 6qts of fluid.

The truck runs better than it did NEW!

The throttle valve cable runs from the left side of your throttle body to the driver's side of the transmission. Mine was very loose (from the factory) and would travel approx 1/4" before the lever and spring on the tranny would move. remove the clip holding the throttle body end and adjust it until it is just taught, and reclamp it. have someone watch the other end to see that they move together. Test drive and readjust to your desired shift feel.

replacing the gov pressure solenoid is simple. It is located behind the tranny filter,(be sure to have a set of TORX drivers or you will be in quite a jam!) It pops out and back in in 5 minutes. Trans ducer is right there as well and is equally as simple. Solenoid: $133 - transducer: $88 about 2hours time. If I had to do it again knowing what I know now it would not take more than 1hr.

GET THE SERVICE MANUAL!!!! $100.00 from Dodge.

Talked to dealer and the word is that the V6 is up to the 03 year is under powered for the truck! Check out the horse power on the 04 models! They have addmitted to me that tranny problems are caused from the engine being under powered and they know this and basically don't care! HOPE IT HELPS!!!

No the v6 is not a powerhouse, but if all is running like it should it is sufficient to move the truck a good clip.

It sounds like they know they f----- up and didn't teach these shops how to dial them in to run properly when they get performance complaints.

My v6 runs fine for my non-towing, around town primary vehicle. If I wanted speed I would have bought a sports car. If I wanted to tow or do serious hauling I would have bought a fullsize.

Just my opinion...
