Subject: Rear Main Seal IP: Logged
Message: I think the rear main seal is leaking on my 2001 4.7 QC (40,000 miles). Has anyone had this replaced? If so, what did it cost? Thanks!

Message: Had mine replaced under warranty at 15,000 miles. They have to pull the tranny. New seal is about 20 bucks, but the labor is gonna kill you if you can't do it yourself.

Message: Anyone had this type of leak and had it stop? I really don't want to spend $500 on it but leaky vehicles drive me insane.

Message: Check out Auto-Rx. If your real seal is defective nothing will work. This stuff is supposedly very good, no gimmick, works on old seals. If nothing else your motor will be clean.

Message: Thanks for the suggestion. Has anyone else tried Auto-RX? I did some reading and I will give it a try. It should be in later this week. I will let you know how it goes.
