Message: Hey how long have your batteries lasted (stock, new) in your Dak's? I have about 45,000 on my 2001, about 2.5 yrs old, and want to know if it'll last the winter. Thanks!

Message: Battery life depends on a variety of factors. Most importantly, weather. Extremes of hot and cold will shorten life of a stock battery. When you replace yours, make sure it's a battery designed for your climate. Also, multiple deep discharges will kill it pretty quick. A starting battery just isn't designed for that.
Consumer Reports just did a pretty good article about this in the last month or two.

Just put a red top in last month.
Stock battery seemed fine, but after 4 years I wasn't taking a chance.
