Friday (10/17/03) Just seen on TV news this
morning that there will be a re-call of Dakotas.
Looks like the headlights on and off problem will
finally be repaired.
Too bad it's just Dakotas. I know owners of full
size Rams with that very same problem!
Now if only a re-call on the warped brake
problem...

I spent all last thursday night trying to figure out why my
running lights kept burning the fuses out. My wiring
harness was totally chafed, all I need to fix it was a zip-tie,
and some electrical tape..

I have a 2001 Quad Cab. Looked under the dash at the clutch pedal. There are no wires anywhere near it.

Doesn't help me. My low beams go out when you change from high beams. To get them on again you half to pull the stalk back kinda hard.
Had it in the shop a while back hopefully they fixed it, under warranty. At least it hasn't done it anymore (YET!)

I'll probably get this too, my luck.
I just discovered the boards here, and think it's great. I've read a lot, and I can't believe some of the problems listed.
I dont' feel so alone now.
I could use some advice, though, as to which forum I could post a few questions on about my "new" truck's chronic problems?

I'd recomend general, unless engine specific, then maybe v-6 or v-8.

I have that same problem. My headlights would not want to work when it rained along withinterior lights. Now when I turn on my fog lights my windshield wipers come on. I think I'mma have to look into this. Mines not manual but the same problem.

I have the same problem with my low beams going out when I switch from high. I got 90k on mine so a warranty repair is out of the question.

just got my offical recall notice in the mail.when i looked under the dash, sure enough the clutch linkage rubs on the harness! not worn through yet.it has a cover over the wires. i need to take it in for some other stuff too.the brakes surge and a vacuume line is cracked.lucky for me it's still under warranty

Forget that, we have a 2003, does anyone have a problem with the engine stalling??? We've taken it in 3 times and the dealer finds nothing. Just waiting to be run over at a green light when my truck stalls out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Already got it fixed, they said it didn't take but like 45 min tops. I just left it there and went to eat, came back and it was done.

There was more on NY City Channel 2 (CBS) this AM about the NTSB asking Dodge to recall Dakotas and Durangos for the ball joint issue. Dodge has not yet responded.
