Subject: doing clutch need help
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey guys, I am replacing the clutch on my 89 Dakota. The question I have is about the pilot bushing. When I pulled everything apart the bushing was in pieces at the bottom of the pressure plate. So when I put the new one in, it sticks out a 1/4" form the edge of the crank. Is this how it is suppose to be? I tapped it in and that is as far as it will go. Just want to make sure that is how it is suppose to be or if I need to tap on it a little more. Don't want to put everything back together to find out the tranny will not fit in far enough. Thanks for any help.

John
