Subject: My Dash Lights went out...HELP!!??! IP: Logged
Message: Today the dash lights, climate control lights and ash tray lights all stopped working on my 1995 Dakota SLT V8. I checked the fuses, and the fuse that controls all these was blown. I put in a new fuse, but the lights still do not work, and the fuse has not blown since. I also looked behind the fuse box for a loose wire of some sort but everything is still intact. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be wrong?

Message: Look for a short somewhere in the wires under the dash. You may even have a broken wire somewhere, which can blow a fuse.

Message: Sounds like you're not getting power from whatever is controlling the dimming. In '95 maybe it was still directly coming from the headlight switch. Maybe the headlight switch isn't making the contact. Maybe try cycling the headlight switch on and off? Could be a broken wire I suppose, but hard to imagine a complete break without having worn against something sharp.
