Message: i just bought a dakota 2.5l with a 5 speed and i got 2 problems 1 may just be normal but i dont know
1. when i release the gas when it tends to hold the rev and lower it slowly to idle.. i checked the TB and its clean and the return spring is tensce..
2. when i shift quickly, and i dont wait for the engine rev to drop.. when i release the clutch it makes a grinding sound.
i was also just wondering what is the catch point of the clutch.. this is my frist truck and im used to a low catching clutch from sports cars.. are they really supposed to catch near the top?

Message: Sad to sya I have not had those problems with my Dak, but the catch point on the clutch is suppossed to be high, I think it all has to do with the fact that it is a hydraulic unit that adjusts itself over time. My only complaint is the holding power on the clutch. (real hard to start up steep hills) That could also do with the lack of power in the 2.5L. Any more holding powere and it would kill the engine. If you would like some help with getting more power you can e-mail me at JustinHinton@hotmail.com
