Hey Everyone,
Well, took the Dak on a small road trip today...had to make a very quick stop on the freeway....the truck was ALL over the place, left, right....scared me to death. what is causing this???? could my front discs be out of round or something?? it's also been shaking a lot while just generally stopping....any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you have the common problem of the front disc being warped,best bet is to put aftermarkets on it.Most people that have had the dealer replace them have had the same problem agin.The ones they use are junk.

any recommended brands?? I'm tryin to keep expenses down, bein as i'm goin to school and not workin as much this fall, so i don't want to spend too much money. However, only the best for the Dak....;)

I went with Raybestos rotors after my stock ones had warped twice in 12,000 miles on my 2000 Dak. I now have 41,000 and no problems yet (knock on wood). If I remember correctly, the rotors were like $75 each.

I bought my 99 w. 25,000 miles on it. Dealer had put new brakes on it. 2000 miles later the rotors were warped and I had them turned. 3000 later warped again. Found out that factory and dealer pads are too hard. I bought 19.99 pads from Discount Auto and they seem(so far) to be much better. They stop smoother and not so "grabby". Should be more rotor friendly.
