Subject: manual window broken IP: Logged
Message: I have a 98 dakota. This weekend, I bumped my window lever with my knee while the window was down. The way i bumped it was to make it go down. Well knee vs. dakota, knee wins. I pulled the door panel and the gear on the back side of the window knob is broken. The local dealer said it was $52 for the "regulator" and $150 to install it. How hard is it to install this? Any pointers out there? Thanks.

Message: I installed a new regulator on my Isuzu Amigo last year and it was fairly easy and straight forward. It's just a matter of taking off the panel, unscrewing some screws, sliding out the glass and regulator then reverse the process. It took less than an hour. I've never done one on a dak but I wouldn't think it would be too much different.
