Subject: 2 cooling fans? IP: Logged
Message: I was poking around under my hood and noticed an electric fan mounted to the back of the radiator. Does anyone know why? This is in addition to the clutch fan.

Message: The electric fan comes on when you turn your AC
on.The clutch fan is triggered by engine coolant
temps.

Message: Trust me when I say that you want the 2nd electic fan there and working properly. Mine was delivered with the fan not working. I didn't see anything unusual under the hood, but I was getting lukewarm air out of the dash vents at anything below 35mph, and the engine was heating up way beyond normal when idling in traffic with the A/C on. Took it to the dealer, and after a day and a half of diagnostic testing and the dealer telling me that they might have to replace the entire A/C system, they found that the fan just wasn't plugged in far enough to make the eletrical connection. Boy did they feel like idiots!
