A buddy of mine has an 01 qc and the fan for the heat and ac only works on high anyone seen this thanks drew

Had this happen to me on a VW I owned. The various speeds on the fan are controlled by a rheostat (it allows you to make the fan run slower). When it shorts out the current just passes through and gives you only the one original speed of the fan. The solution? Go into your A/C (usually under the dash) and replace the fan switch. The switch is not expensive. The labor to get to it to replace it is not hard, but is time consuming sometimes.
