Subject: Fan roar IP: Logged
Message: My 99 Dakota V6 fan is roaring with every acceleration
Is this the clutch fan? Been cold outside last two days 40's in the morning to 60s in the afternoon
Roar is all day long every acceleration
I've spun the fan when the engine is off and there is a little resistence sometimes even a "stuck spot" belt and pulley not spinning when I move fan
Any Ideas

Message: I have the same problem with my 99 dakota. I have noticed also that if I push the fan forward while turning it it's very rough feeling. I've got 90000 miles on it.

Message: I have an 03 4.7 and the fan only roars right at start up as I back out the driveway and start down the road then goes away. Does this at most every startup. Seems to be less in warmer weather.
A lady I work with has a 2001 Blazer and hers does the same thing at startup. Same with my friends 92 Blazer.
But if yours is doing it EVERY time you accelerate, I think you may want to have that checked out? It really should only roar at startup and for the first few hundred feet at max that you drive. Usually mine is done after one good full acceleration.
