Message: I have a question. I have an 92 3.9l sport dakota short bed and i wanna know how much it weighs. im in the process of jammin a 383 in it and every time i try to find out how much it weighs. theres a couple hundred pounds difference in the answer. on my title it says 3550. this seems really high for a truck with no interior options and of its sure size. Thanks

Message: Measure the size of the footprint of a tire (square inches) and multiply that by the tire pressure. Do that with all four tires and take the sum. That's how much your truck weighs.

Message: Mark is just about right on the money. The GenIII ('97-up)RC weighs 3759, and a comparable GenII ('91-'96)was 300 pounds lighter. A 3.9 was a 5.2 with two cylinders cut off. The 4.7 weighs 50lb. less than the 5.2, so considering that, a GenII 5.2 would weigh 3450-3500. That B-block is one heavy motor. As a 440, it weighed 900 pounds. You may have to put an 18-wheeler fifth wheel in the back of the bed to avoid tire spin!

Message: Hey, jharader; you just gave me an idea. Why hasn't someone swapped a 4.7 into a GenII? You talk about a lightweight terror!! 50 less pounds that a 5.2.
