I have warranty that will end at 36,000 on my 02 quadcab w/4.7. My question is can I unplug my odometer somewhere to stop the miles going on? My truck has 35,983 on it right now, and it is 45 miles to the dealer. And it is in need of some work!

Scott,

in a sense that is pretty funny. That could actually be a Seinfeld episode. Actually I think there is some kind of protection on these odometers to stop this. I would think your dealer should understand this unless they are complete a$$holes. If you gave them your business thought the life of the truck then they should understand this. But I had a VW once that have 80500kms. I drove it from Toronot to London Ont. I had a synch problem with the transmission and they would not fix it. The warranty ran out aat 80000kms. They said it because I did not do my maintenance there. Can you believe it??? Sure enough I will never buy a VW again and I will spend my life trying to steer people away from them.

Have it towed.....probably still cheaper than having to pay for any dealer work...

do you have AAA plus? they will tow your car anywhere up to 100 miles for free. or just pay to have it towed. rent a tow dolly from a u-haul place. they are cheap and do it yourself.
