Subject: Excess tire wear IP: Logged
Message: I have noticed my tires wearing a lot on the outsides. Called dealer and he said they were new when I bought the truck. That meant excess wear after 12K miles. Put worn tires on back and had front end aligned. Report from shop shows all items in spec and no other problems (ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. all good). Now wearing the good tires I put up front. Want this problem fixed before buying new tires. Anyone else have this same problem, and what is the cause?

too fast of low speed corners turning the power steering and grinding the outsides off
I dunno
And no, I'm not really having that problem on my 01, QC, 5spd, 4.7, LSD, tire and handling package (16's) the tires, not in the 1/4, with the original rubber, 44K on em.

Message: Todd, thanks for the quick reply. Had the toe in problem fixed when aligned. Must be my cornering, noticed these Daks have a tight turning radius.

Message: I've had two Dakotas, and both of them came from the factory with slightly too much toe in. Worth checking.
