Has anyone ever looked into this? Are the frames the same or at least similar?

interesting idea, but it seems like an incredible waste of money.

You'd be way better off if you just sold the CC and bought a QC, you would wind up spending just as much for the conversion.

I was thinking that maybe I could find a quad cab (cab & bed) at a salvage yard, buy it and put it on my frame and sell my club cab (cab & bed) to a salvage yard. It seems to me it would be cheaper to do that than to buy a new quad cab which start at $22,000, especially since my club cab is paid off. The trade-in value on my club cab is around $5,000, I would be $17,000 in the hole, I think with the swap I might only be $2,000 or $3,000 in the hole. Does that make any sense?

Ya, but unless you do this kind of work for a living your asking for one helluva big headache. Wiring, cutting, welding, fitting pieces together, and making it all work and look good.. Thats why even some of the best body shops won't do custom work. I have no idea of your skills but even the best mechanics and body men wouldn't try this kind of mod. And like dontdoit said, what would a good body be in salvage yard for.
