i have a 1988 dakota 2wd with a 2.2 5spd what would make it quit running up to 30 sec then start back up it does not do it all the time somedays it wont do it at all other days it do it 3 or 4 times change fuel pump,filter check plugs,wires,cap,rotor,timeing belt ( change 2 years ago) thanks

Change out the magnetic pickup assembly under your rotor in the distributor.It is a very common problem for thr 2.2. the wires where they come out from the
dist. will break internally,and you can't tell by looking at them. The cost for the pickup is about $35.
