Subject: Synethic vs blend

So here's what I understand - once you go full synthetic, don't go back to regular. What exactly is the reasoning? Secondly, what about synthetic blends, which do contain regular oil, can you switch from synthetic to regular? And finally what about full synthetic to blend?? Any answers are greatly apppreciated so my engine doesn't explode!

You can use any oil at your pleasure. Switching back and forth between full synth, dino or blended is perfectlt alright. You won't harm your engine. Don't listen to people who make claims to the contrary, they're just trying to separate you from your ca$h.

01 DakCC,

Quick answer ... It's Friday and I'm trying to get out of the office.

You can switch in any shape form or fashion at any time.

Will it cause your engine to blow up? No.
Is it the best for your engine? No.

When you change oil you don't eliminate all of the prior oil (base oil and additive package). You can't continue to switch back and forth and back and forth from dino to synthetic and expect the synthetic to perform at it's best ... ESPECIALLY FOR EXTENDED DRAINS ... and the definition of extended drain is anything beyond manufacturers recommendations.

Care to know more about EXTENDED DRAINS using Amsoil Synthetic? You can perform a Forum Search using the words "Amsoil Extended Drain".
