 Subject: under the tailgate

I took my tailgate off this past weekend to load something on my truck. After I took it off, I saw this "tube" under where the tailgate is right behind the license plate bracket. The "tube" seems to be on some sort of bushings and can be removed quite a bit. It doesn't look like it does anything. Does anyone know what this is?

I believe that is the tube the jack handle slides down to lower the spare. It connects to the little black rubber "thingymagig" circle above the bumper correct.

I know what that is. But this tube is about 2 inches in diameter and runs in parallel with the rear bumper. Its black and right below the jack handle thing.

Kevin- could it be a trailer hitch bracket I checked mine and the only thing there is my Hidden Hitch.

Kevin if you look at your glove book manual, it will explain the uses of the crank to lower your tire from the under side of your truck.(The crank should be,in the cab be hind your sets)

Of coarse,I did not get that package I have the P235/75R15 c/w 15x7 aluminum mags.Most days I am happy with them, then I see a dak with 31" tires and I get jealous.
