Message: I was thinking of buying this vehicle, as listed in the subject line. It is a 1999 dakota sport, with a V8 (5.2) 48k miles excellent condition, 4x4 crew cab for a bit over $12,000 can anyone give me some recommendations, or warnings. I have heard of a history of mechanical problems, and I would rather ask here, where I assume the most knowledgable, and up to date people are.
Any postings to either assure me, or prevent me from a mistake would be very very appreciated.
Message: I have the same truck that I ordered new in
March of '99. I have done the routine maint.
pretty faithfully and have had no problems
(other than having to replace the upper ball
joints recently). It has been a reliable truck for
me.
