I was wondering if anyone has an idea of what the Gen4 Dakotas will look like or if they know when they will come out?

Listen be careful with toyota. I bought a 4runner in 1996 it didn't last the year. It blew a head gasket and they didn't want to fix it under warrnty so i went accros the street to dodge and have not looked back ever since. They are a much better truck. The worst part about toyota is there service is the worst in the world and if you order any parts from them it takes 50 years to got to you. I ordered a ski rack right from the parts counter and after 7 months of waiting they tell me that it will take an other 7 months. Why dont you get a dakota 5 speed with 4.7. It looks cooler. You get more respect. Parts are cheaper and accually come in. Plus you can come to a forum to talk about your truck and how great it is. And if somthing does go wrong people will help you fix it because if it happened to you it happend to someone else. I don't know of a toyota T100 hundred forum unless its in japan.

Also i might be wrong now but back in 1996 toyota didn't offer a limited slip diff all they offered was a button to lock it but it only worked when you had the truck in 4lo making in impossible to use on the street in snow or rain.

My family has owned Toyotas since 1979 and we have only had to visit a dealer ship twice other then to buy parts that we could not get localy. We always had great luck with them. I currently have 1986 Toyata 4Runner and a 1982 Toyota Starlet that are mostly origanal.Excludeing routine maintence items I have gone through 1 set of universal joints, 4 sets of brake pads, 1 ignition coil, 4 sets of shocks and thre O2 sensors. This is the combined total from both vechiles. Both have been used and abused often. I might have to turn my rotors turned soon.My rotors and drums have never been turned and are still smooth as glass. My dad has owned 6 Toyota and he has only had to have one thing repaired. It was still under warranty and that was the front imput shat seal on his 95 Tacoma. I know hundreds of people who have put 300,000 on Toyotas with out any proplems I only know one person who has done this with an American make. It was a Chevy Caviler wagon and it went through 6 starters in that 300,000 and had normal maintence performed on it.

Remember that the Dealerships are not owned car makers. They are owned and operated by private individuals. If you get bad milk from a grocer store and they will not make it right, you do not blame the farmer that milked the cow do ya? Like wise if a dealer is no good it is not the manufactures fault. There is an offical arbitration guidline that you should have followed to get this resolved. You can also go to a different dealer you do not need to go to the one you bought it from. I would also like to point out that Toyota Trucks are American Made with American Parts by American men and women that are all U.A.W. Union Members. Toyota works with General Motors quite a bit They share a plant in Califonria(Numi)amoungst other things. P.S. I realy realy like my Dak QC 2001 4.7!

The Dakotas are getting revamped for the 2003 model year. They will have a different look from the Durangos (which will also be revamped that year) and the Rams. I believe the cab-forward design will be incorporated as well as the concept DataMaxx truck look.
