Hello - How can I be sure my 99 has the tow package? A fast look last night shows a hitch with Dodge emblem on the wiring box (7pin). I spotted a cooler on the power steering pump line too. I tried to find an amp rating on the alternator but didn't see one. Is there something in the VIN or a tag in the truck? I found a tag in the glovebox and in the door sill on the driver's side and neither mentioned a tow package.
What was in that options package? What is the tow rating of my truck with/without it?

Take the vin # to a dealer and ask them to print a build sheet for you, it will give you all the info when the truck left the factory

As I recal the towing package came with the hitch and the wiring box.
The oversize battery, high output alt, stearing cooler, and trany cooler are the Heavy Dudy service group.
