 Subject: colder plugs

I'm getting ready to change the plugs in my stock 4.7. I Have read all the old posts about going with the 3923's if the thermostat has been swithched. What does the new thermo/colder plugs accomplish? I'm new to this, and looking to keep truck running as efficiently as possible.
Otherwise I'll probably just go with the factory champion replacements. Any info would help

Still looking for a little input from all of the wisdom on this forum, should I just go with the autolite 5224's? or tell me what is gained by going to the 3923's with a different thermostat.
