OK - according to the label on my door, I should be running 215/75R 15. I got 235/75R 15 0n my 99 V6 club cab Dak 4X4 with DC LSD in the rear
On dry pavement, the tires are great but in the wet, I'm all over the place. Asse end, front end all want to slide or jump and spin.
Need four tires and thinking about going to 215/75R 15. will this give me more grip in the wet. Am I too wide and sliding. I like the wide look but driving on wet roads suck.
What do ya think?

Driving a truck on wet roads is a pain pretty much no matter what size tires you have. My stock tires used to go all over the place, but ever since i lowered it, it doesn't anymore.

Heh, I'm running 255's, when my sticker says 215's.
Seems to drive OK in the wet. Doesn't shift into first,
though...and that sucks.

I have to keep sandbags over the back tires year round. I spin all over the place when it's wet otherwise. Just a truck thing. I tend to get on that V8 harder than I should.

Everyone's door sticker will say that they should have 215's. That is the box stock base model tire size.
I run 275/60/15 firestone firehawk's on my 15x8's. They are within an eigth of an inch in height, and are 3/4" wider than stock. Rain performance is greatly improved over stock. I think you will see that just about any tire is better than the stock ones.

I used to run an S-10 with 295/50/15 BFG's on a 10" wheel--- It was the very definition of all over the place when wet.
But on the dry, it cornered like a spider with sneakers!
